Silence of the Lambs is my favorite movie of all time. What a treat (ha) when it came out in February! It’s all about trying to be something we are not. We all understood who an anti hero was as it’s the most despicable character to hit the big screen who teaches us to be the hero even if accidentally. Maybe. But so much going on in that movie. It’s the greatest mind f ever. Please can I watch it again. Thanks Sasha for keeping this channel alive. I’m so happy to hear it might be your favorite too. Aren’t we all something we are not at least at one point?

We just saw Sinners, and it wasn’t a bad movie, but these days we are so attuned to sussing out the woke in any movie from Hollywood, and it was right there in the Chinese couple. Small potatoes by Hollywood standards, and only a faintly annoying wrinkle, but still…
Oddly enough, we didn’t mind that all the whites were either vampires or KKK, because this was 1930s Mississippi and from a black perspective, no less. We’re pretty sure that Mississippi’s favorite literary son and conscience Faulkner would have approved too.
The point being… Real history isn’t woke, even if it aligns with the woke religion. The character in Silence is a true non-stereotypical character, even if it clashes with the woke religion. We should be able to experience both.
This malignant cultural religion has basically destroyed America. It’s strange how a culture that once was genuinely inclusive and doing well became so mindlessly hateful. I’m not sure it will recover either. My novels deal with many of these derelictions of faith (mass shootings, sex trafficking, obsessive fame-seeking and finally total social collapse), renouncing the goodness and possibility that once guided the people of this nation. As a single gay man with a very small life, I often wonder what I’m doing here.
