Honest to God, I am so sick of queers. Everything has to be queer now, whether it has anything to do with the plot. Always the gratuitous queers. I swear, Ryan Murphy should make a movie about the non-profit lesbian “Covid-conscious” bar (Last Ditch, Greenfield, Mass.) going through its woke paroxysms regarding masks not being required for one night a week. Now that would be entertaining and there are queers to boot!
Ironically, I see that Netflix stock is down 40% from a year ago. Plus I unrelatedly cancelled my subscription last week because they suck. Analysts say Netflix may not survive. Boo hoo.
IMO Ryan Murphy is unwatchable now because he has fallen into the trap of trying to live up to his own legend à la M. Night Shyamalan. It used to be that his style and ideas were fresh and his “twist” of “modernizing” old stories into weird progressive anachronisms were a breath of fresh air. The problem is everything has to be bigger and more perverse and crazy than the last thing he did. Which inevitably ends up as a giant mountain of incomprehensible dogshit. See: The Beauty, Grotesquerie, The Shards. The one thing anyone watching any of those shows can say is “what the fuck did I just watch?”
Fame has spread him too thin and made him lazy. I saw this happen to many creatives and suffered bouts of it myself in my own craft when I did work. He’s got lots of ideas, but the hard part is always closing. And Ryan Murphy is too busy and too rich to close now.

Completely agree. Creativity does not seem to exist in Hollywood. Too busy trying to be politically relevant.

I admit I watched it but it played like a comedy to me with all the over acting and all the blood. After a while you just have to laugh. 😆
