Citizen Vigilante For Free on X for 48 Hours
As gatekeepers, Hollywood failed audiences. They blamed the fan base they had conditioned over the previous 20 years, as they had made billions on superhero and franchise movies. Then, they got religion and decided it was their fans who were to blame for the “white male patriarchy” Hollywood had become. I helped make that case as a blogger who advocated for something other than “one special boy” at the heart of every movie.
I guess I just never thought it would go this far, all the way to the other end of the spectrum, where the only stories that mattered had to revolve around a marginalized group. Hollywood wanted to look good, and their audience was expendable.
Citizen Vigilante is not a movie Hollywood would ever make. It’s a movie that the film critics have slammed as “racist” or just plain bad. But it also expresses the collective rage of millions of people worldwide who feel anger about what’s happened to their countries at the hands of the Woke Left.
So culture had to grow around them as a counterculture. Part of that was DEI, which still rages on in Hollywood because it has to. They’ve built a system that protects the same rich white people who have always run Hollywood, only they use people of color and the LGBTQIA group as protective shields.
They do this because it absolves them. They know activists won’t come for them if they follow the rules. And they all follow the rules. Directors, actors, producers, publicists, critics, bloggers - they are all one hive mind that has decided things like box office and ratings should no longer matter, even though those were the only ways their audience had a voice.
Now, filmmakers are finding other ways in. YouTube, in particular, has been a useful pipeline to get movies out there like Obsession and Backrooms. Now, Elon Musk is getting into the business by posting Citizen Vigilante on X. The link will only last 48 hours:
And Elon himself posted it:
The Right has to start building back culture because Hollywood won’t, mostly with film and film awards. There are people like Taylor Sheridan and studios like Paramount Plus that are dipping their toes into expanding their scope to include the other half of America, but there is no reason why X can’t be a streaming platform too.
I’ve been predicting the rise of the counterculture for a while now because art finds a way. Art, like truth, like information, wants to be free. As Matt Walsh explains here, Citizen Vigilante isn’t perfect, but its subversive nature and the courage to make it all have value in a culture under the tight constraints of soft totalitarianism. His full video is here.
Hollywood will never be what it once was. Whatever it will be next will have to be built from scratch, and lucky for us, we get to watch. We might start to see some interesting things that are worth going to the movies for.

Thank you, Sasha. I wasn't aware of this and might have missed out entirely. I don't even care if the movie is no good! I just appreciate the chance to see it and increase the number of views. Once again Elon does good for our civilization. I think we should change Mars' name to Elon ;-)
The first AI films are already sprouting across YouTube and leave much to be desired, but they will improve exponentially fast. Hollywood is doomed.
